You are using an undocumented/unsupported feature of VMR9 on XP so you can't reasonably expect it to be carried forward to a new OS where the entire desktop is drawn with D3D (when in Aero mode). You can try disabling aero to see what effect that has. You can try the new video renderer and see if that works any

Other than signal ambiguity... a good enough argument in and of itself for disabling them. <snip> What would really be nice is if the car companies lost a class action lawsuit over Aero-style *must* be polycarbonate. I've got a 95 9000 aero with 110k miles. Also a son age 14 and 3/4 who starts driving in March and looking for his full license in 18 months. it is way too much car for a beginner -- too fast; too much acceleration, not great visibility over the shoulders, and wonder if I can fix some of it by disabling the turbo.

Aero disapears on Maximized Windows
Unfortunately, Vista doesn't include full-screen DOS mode support in the video drivers. There was another post recently where someone mentioned a way to get this to work, using XP drivers if I recall. I think the same post mentioned that this has a side effect of disabling Aero support.

Disabling a Turbo
My Vista Aero thing is working perfectly except for that taskbar. My windows frame are transparant. If you ever need any more information on my problem, I had a similar problem all other aero effects worked perfectly just not the transparency on the taskbar. Disabling the Itunes toolbar remedied this.

The method used for drawing this effect doesn't play nice with Vista. The effect draws itself at about 1 or 2 frames per second, essentially making it take 10-15 seconds for me to be able to edit a movieclip. My temporary workaround is to have Flash disable Aero, but I was wondering if there was any way to disable

I think it just worked as above. I'll be trying it myself soon- so I'll let you know how I get on! Turn Off Clear Type in Aero
Unfortunatelly, every time you shut down the computer, the problem reapears. It looks like it's a driver problem, either the monitor - I have tried different refresh rates, or the video card. Two thing that theoretically can make things better are disabling the aero features on the system and installing the drivers

Go to the Compatibility tab, and check off 'disable visual themes', 'disable desktop composition'. The problem has to do with Windows Aero, that retarded transparent menu system. By doing the above, you're disabling Aero when running Flash, thus solving the problem.
